Bev & Ivan Hodge celebrate 60 years of marriage at Balmoral this weekend

Ivan & Beth Hodge are a gorgeous couple we have known for many years. On their honeymoon many years ago in 1961, they drove a VW beetle from England to Mumbai. They repeated this mammoth feat again in 1996!

They even wrote a book about it and one day it will have to be made into a movie. Netflix, are you listening?

Their beloved VW Beetle is now on permanent display at the MOTAT transport museum in Auckland.

I first met them at Balmoral Beach ten years ago when we did an extended family photoshoot. It ended in blood and tears and three teeth out as two of the grandkids collided face-first.

Fortunately, I wasn’t sued, and the baby teeth were loose anyway.
Since then, I have photographed them and their 3 daughters and sons-in-law and tribe of grandkids many times.

I often see both Ivan & Beth out and about at Balmoral, and they are always up for a chat. They will be down at Balmoral Rotunda for an amazing event this November 3rd 2019, so come on down and have a picnic, listen to the band and say hi.

Beth has been painting for many years and is quite an accomplished artist.
The world is a better place with the likes of Ivan & Beth.
